The ideal principal candidate for the Abraham Lincoln School will support a continuous improvement model, reflection and team planning. Additionally, the ideal candidate will embrace the desire for constituent feedback that can be used to continually enhance the student and family experience at school.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fosters a positive school culture and climate.
- Implements programs to improve student learning outcomes.
- Monitors student progress and performance data.
- Supports teacher professional learning and effective instructional practices.
- Works collaboratively with district administrators to maintain consistent administrative practice in the operation of the schools.
- Maintains current and thorough knowledge of state and national education initiatives and consults the Superintendent of Schools regarding their impact on the leadership of the school.
- Participates in the selection, orientation, supervision, and evaluation of all school personnel, including substitutes and volunteers.
- Leads and ensures the development, appropriateness, and monitoring of the instructional program.
- Organizes and administers the public relations program for the school in alignment with the BSD strategic plan.
- Approves the master teaching schedule and any special assignments.
- Prepares and administers the school budget and supervises school finances including all expenditures.
- Supervises the maintenance of required records and all reports required by local, state, and federal agencies.
- Ensures that Bangor School Department policies, regulations, and procedures as well as state and federal statutes are followed.
- Promotes a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
- Builds and maintains relationships with faculty, parents, and community contributing to the efficient and effective operation of the school.
- Maine K-12 Principal Certification required.
- Experience preferred.
The Abraham Lincoln School is a PreK-3 elementary school serving approximately 185 children of Bangor. Abraham Lincoln School is one of the five PreK-3 elementary school in Bangor, and provides a high quality and well-rounded experience for all children.
